Supernet Frequently Asked Questions
What is ADSL?
Telus has deployed Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line commonly
known as ADSL. The ADSL signal is "split off" using
a splitter placed between the wall jack and your telephone equipment.
Like other digital phone lines an ADSL line can be used simultaneously
by multiple users and for multiple tasks like Internet, voice
and fax without affecting the speed of data transmission.
How fast is ADSL?
ADSL is typically measured in Mega Bits Per Second (Mbps) which
you want to compare to the speeds you have experienced with other
technologies.
Where is ADSL Available?
ADSL is widely deployed throughout Vancouver and the BC lower
mainland through BC Supernet.
Do I need a new phone line?
You can use an existing phone or fax line for your ADSL access.
